How Kalypsi works

A Greek news site that shows who covers each story, how they lean and who owns them.

Stories

We read the public feeds of 85 Greek and Cypriot outlets, national and regional, every half hour, and group articles about the same event into a story once at least three outlets cover it. We show each article’s headline, outlet, time and a link to it; we never republish outlets’ texts or photos.

Coverage by political lean

The coloured bar under each story shows its outlets by their published lean: left, centre or right, with outlets that have no published rating shown hatched. Ratings come from an AI analysis of each outlet’s articles in which the model does not know the outlet, and are published only when the editor approves them and the sample is large enough. Outlets can appeal.

Summaries

Each story’s summary is written by AI (Claude) only from what the outlets’ articles say, and every sentence names the outlets that report it. A sample is checked again against the full articles every day, and a summary that fails is withdrawn. On these English pages, titles and summaries are machine-translated from the Greek.

Blindspots and ownership

A story is a blindspot when one side barely covered it compared with its usual share among rated outlets. Each outlet’s owner comes from public records and the outlet’s legal imprint, with the source shown.
