Within a month and a half of the scheme being activated on 21 September, 675 borrowers chose to put other properties up for sale in order to keep the home they live in.[1]
When the debtor chooses to protect their primary residence, the system divides the property into a primary residence, which is exempt from forced enforcement, and other properties, which are voluntarily made available for the benefit of creditors.[2]
