What is happening
What the sources report
An Italian chef lost his job in Australia because he repeatedly refused to make a pineapple pizza.[1]
He was fired from a restaurant in Brisbane and argued that adding pineapple is an “insult to its culture”.[2]
The dismissal from La Costa took place on May 20, according to a decision of the Fair Work Commission filed on Tuesday.[1]
The chef appealed to the Commission, arguing that he was dismissed unfairly.[2]
The case also recorded complaints about abusive language, about his manner of communication, and about escalating tension in the workplace.[2]
